I am trying to install W10 Pro because that is what he had on it. So I tried to create a partition table and I get "Input/output error during write on /dev/nvme0n1" Just tried to use Gparted in Parted Magic but it said that I need to create a partition table. If all else fails you could temporarily install Linux such as Ubuntu just to make sure that the laptop is basically working. Also, what BIOS settings have you in the way of UEFI, etc? And how much storage?
The latest version of Windows 10 has file sizes too large for FAT32 and that may be an issue for you. It is useful to know what version of Windows you are trying to install as that was originally Windows 8.1 Pro. While at it you could check the SMART values of the SSD. Perhaps use gparted Opens a new window to set the file system to NTFS and then install Windows on a clean SSD. Appreciate that you have already used the Linux based Parted Magic.
